An internal link or 'anchor link' is a link that directs to a text on the same or another website page. You can 'jump' from one part of the page to another part of the page. This might be useful when you have a lot of text on your website page.
First, we will explain how to add an anchor link on the same page and then we will explain how to add one on another page of the same website.
1) Adding an internal link on the same page
On the relevant website page, you can add the internal link. Here you can see the text editor where you will find the flag-button for the internal link.
Step 1. First, you select the part of the website page where the anchor link should refer to. Place the flag on this part of the page. By selecting the specific text you can add the flag to it. Give the anchor link a name so that it is easy to find. The name of the anchor link is not visible on the event website.
Step 2. Now go to the original text you want to add an anchor link to. Add the new anchor link by clicking on the icon below.
Step 3. From the options under 'Link type', choose 'Link to anchor in the text'. Then choose your internal link you created earlier as an anchor link. In the example below this is 'Anchor'.
Step 4. To continue, click on OK. Now you have added an anchor link on the website page.
2) Referring to a link on the same website, but on a different page
You can also add a link which refers to another page of the same website.
You can do this by choosing 'URL' in step 3 at 'Link type'. The selected text appears in the displayed text.
For example, the page you want to link to is: www.aanmelder.nl/event
The anchor link (the little red flag) that is added is called 'anchor' in our example. So this is the word/place you will refer to on the page. Then, in the URL field, you can add the following:
www.aanmelder.nl/event/#anchor
What you have added is /#anchor
This is what it looks like:
To continue, click OK. Now you have added an anchor link to another page of the website.Tip
