Set Up Mobile Tickets with Apple or Google Wallet

Streamline your event check-in process and provide a modern, convenient experience for your attendees by offering mobile tickets. Integrating with Google Wallet and Apple Wallet allows participants to save their tickets directly to their phones. This means they no longer have to search through their inbox for a confirmation email and QR code, leading to a smoother, faster queue at your event.

Once added, their phone may also send a helpful notification as the event date approaches, making it even easier to find their ticket.

Here is an example of what your attendees will see:

Key Features

You have several options to customize the look and feel of your mobile tickets to match your event's branding:

  • Multilingual Event Name: The event name will display correctly based on the language settings.
  • Customizable Logo: Add your organization or event-specific logo.
  • Customizable Organizer Name: Set the name that appears at the top of the ticket.
  • Customizable Background Color: Choose a background color that fits your brand. The text color will automatically switch to white or black for readability.
  • Customizable Banner (Google Wallet Only): You have the option to add an attractive banner image at the bottom to tickets saved in Google Wallet.

Important: Differences Between Apple Wallet and Google Wallet Updates

Before you begin, it is crucial to understand how updates are handled on different platforms.

  • Google Wallet: You can change and update the design of the mobile ticket (e.g., change the color or banner) even after a participant has added it to their Google Wallet. You can push these changes live with a "Publish changes" button.
  • Apple Wallet: Tickets saved to an Apple Wallet cannot be updated remotely after they have been downloaded. The participant would need to re-add the ticket from their confirmation email to see any changes.

Because of this limitation with Apple Wallet, we strongly recommend finalizing your mobile ticket design before your event registration goes live.

How to Set It Up

Follow these two simple steps to activate and configure your mobile tickets.

Step 1: Activate Mobile Tickets

Navigate to the Email Settings of your event then:

  1. Expand the confirmation message settings
  2. Enable QR codes for your event
    1. It should automatically enable the Mobile Tickets checkbox

Step 2: Configure Your Mobile Ticket Design

Once activated, a new configuration section will appear directly within the Email Settings page.

Here, you can customize the ticket's appearance:

  1. Organizer Name: This defaults to your organization's name but can be easily edited.
  2. Logo: Upload a high-quality image file for your event or company logo.
  3. Banner (Optional for Google Wallet): If you wish, upload a banner image that will only be displayed on Google Wallet tickets.
  4. Background Color: Select a color that matches your brand. If you choose a dark color, the text on the ticket will automatically become white to ensure it's easy to read.

The Participant Experience

After a participant successfully registers for your event, they will receive their confirmation email as usual. This email will now include dedicated buttons for them to add their ticket to their preferred mobile wallet.

All they need to do is tap the "Add to Apple Wallet" or "Add to Google Wallet" button on their smartphone, and the ticket will be instantly saved and ready for your event.

Updating Tickets After They Have Been Issued

If you need to make design changes after participants have already started saving their tickets, please follow the guidance below.

For Google Wallet

If you make changes to the design (e.g., update the logo or background color), a button will appear at the bottom of the configuration section.

  1. Make your desired changes to the ticket design.
  2. Click the Publish changes button to push the update to all tickets already saved in Google Wallet.

For Apple Wallet

As mentioned, changes made to the design will not automatically update for users who have already saved their ticket. For a participant to get the updated design, they must return to their confirmation email and use the ‘Add to Apple Wallet’ button again to save the new version.
